I have been conducting exhumations on behalf of the Health Department of the Municipal Board in Warsaw in the district of Mokotów since 1 March 1945. I know nothing regarding the exhumation performed on the premises of S. Anc’s Pharmacy, for this area is located in the district of Warsaw-Śródmieście. Exhumations in that area were performed by Stefan Majdecki (residing in Warsaw at Koszykowa Street 24, flat 19).
I am also aware of the fact that in February 1945 exhumations were conducted by the Municipal Department of Sanitation (Radzymińska Street 7).
On 27 November 1945 an exhumation was performed of four graves located in aleja Piłsudskiego, on the corner with Marszałkowska Street. They were conducted by the manager of the exhumation group, Zofia Prokop, acting on behalf of the Municipal Undertaker’s Office.
I learned from her that the bodies recovered from these graves could have been carried there from the burnt-down Pharmacy of S. Anc at Marszałkowska Street 21. I received the same information from Edmund Gontarczyk, the head of the Municipal Undertaker’s Office, who in January or February of the present year saw human corpses being transferred from Anc Pharmacy and buried in aleja Piłsudskiego.
The exhumation protocol drawn up by Zofia Prokop shows that 15 bodies – or rather human remains – were exhumed; of these, six were identified.
