What do the mass graves tell us?
Above the mass graves, trees rustle and whisper about the partisan wandering. The trees tell us how the partisans fought against the Germans, with what hatred every partisan’s heart burned against the Germans. And these graves tell us about sleepless nights, hunger, about wet and snowy forests. The graves tell us about the combat against the Germans in the forest, about the streams of Polish blood, as well as about the way Poles died from the criminal German bullets. They remind us that when a partisan went to sleep after a day of hardship, a stone was his pillow, and his bedding was grass or snow. There are so many graves everywhere, and Polish heroes inside them! So let’s pay tribute to them and honor their memory!
