My most memorable moment from the occupation
It was a nice, warm summer. The sun was shining and the birds were chirping, but I was very sad! I was constantly thinking about the war and wondering who in the world needed it. I was afraid that the military policemen would come and take my dad into German captivity, and wondered what mum and us would do if it came to that.
One morning dad was not home. We waited for him with fear in our hearts; then we learned that he had been taken by the Germans, and that I would not be able to see him. He would never again hug me like he used to. I lost my father; I was reduced to tears. I will be an orphan for the rest of my life. I only have my mum and my younger sister.
