On 27 February 1991 at 1:15 p.m. Wiesława Kryńska, deputy regional prosecutor in Węgrów, with the participation of reporter Grażyna Wojasińska, interviewed the person named below as a witness, whose identity she determined on the basis of the identity card No. BR 8782456, [issued by] the Citizens’ Militia Regional Headquarters in Węgrów. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false statements (Article 247, paragraph 1 of the Penal Code), the witness confirmed with his own signature that he had been informed of this liability (Article 172 of the Code of Criminal Procedure). Having been advised of the wording of Articles 165 and 166 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, I declare that I’ve lived in Stoczek since I was a child. Because of my age, I cannot recall if there was one Postek family in Stoczek during the war or several families of that name. I remember that people were talking about the Postek family sheltering Jews in some bunker on their property during the war. I cannot speak to the construction of this bunker, as I was never there. I also do not know whether the Postek family sheltered one Jewish family or several; all I know is that towards the end of the war the Germans murdered the Postek family. Both spouses were killed and one son, while three of the children survived. I am not sure of their ages and only know the story of their murder from the residents of the village, but I have no details. I only heard that they were shot, but I don’t know where. I have no further knowledge on this matter. I’m not sure who could know more, since the Posteks lived on the edge of the village near the forest and I don’t know who was in their close circle. I am seventy nine already, my memory is weak and I don’t remember much from those events.
