My most important wartime experiences

One morning the partisan troops came to the village of Dołholiska. They hid in homes. The Germans got a word about it. The Germans gathered troops to fight and kill the partisans. The partisans started digging trenches. Then, the German troops started their assault on the village. The partisans started to defend themselves. The battle went on for many hours. The partisans ran out of ammunition, so they started withdrawing from the village and sent somebody to the elder to get ammunition. The Germans entered the village and started setting fire to the buildings. Then, the ammunition came in. The partisans launched an attack on the Germans. The Germans started to retreat. The partisans entered the village. The Germans started surrounding the partisans. The partisans went out of the woods on the other side and took the fight to the Germans, who panicked and started running away. The partisans took up the chase. They killed many Germans on that day. They left that night, and the Germans came under the cover of darkness to gather their wounded and dead. Since then, the Germans were afraid to come to the village.
