My wartime experiences

The Germans came with their tanks and artillery of various caliber when we were living in Błażowa. They drove around in the orchards and gardens and started shooting. The SS men chased everyone into the church and locked them in, then they went around stealing and plundering whatever they could. They took our rugs, blankets, kerosene stoves, etc., and sold them off in other villages. They looted shops, destroyed everything.

Mom and dad ran away because they thought dad was a partisan and started shooting. But the Soviets soon came and we survived thanks to them.

Such was my wartime experience and there are many others which I cannot describe.
