How I survived the war
My wartime memories are very sad. I was small, I was in the shelter with my parents, and many people [were] with us. When the Germans came, a battle ensued. Later the Germans noticed us and threw a grenade into the shelter. It killed a few people and wounded the rest. My daddy left because there was a lot of smoke, and the Germans shot him. My mom and I saw him lying in a pool of blood and cried a lot.
