Re: search for the families of missing persons

I would like to kindly ask you to find my father, who was arrested on 18 September 1939 by the NKVD following the entry of Russian troops to Zaleszczyki.

My father, Andrzej Szamborski, an inspector of the Polish State Police, born in 1884 in Września, Poznań voivodeship, son of Jan and Franciszka, was deported to the Soviet Union, to Ostashkov, from where he wrote just one postcard in the early spring of 1940.

On 13 April 1940, together with my mother and sister, I was deported to Siberia, to the township of Pieshchanka, and then to Semipalatinsk (Kazakhstan).

Apart from this one postcard, to date we haven’t received any other news from or about my father.

Moreover, in February 1940, my brother Stefan Szamborski, born in 1919, son of Andrzej and Franciszka, was also arrested. He was deported to the township of Ukhta on the Izhma River in the USSR. I haven’t heard from him since.
