Dear Mr. Editor!
In March 1990 in the Editorial Office of “Zorza” [Weekly], I personally stated information regarding the stay of my husband in the Starobilsk camp and handed copies of postcards from Starobilsk and the returned postcards which had been sent to Starobilsk and Moscow. I had sent five cards, only two being returned to me.
In the last book of yours, “Mord Katyński” [“Katyń Murder”], there is no name nor surname of my husband. Lieutenant Stefan Mizera from Bielsk (distant family) is listed.
I come to you with a fervent request to complete and correct the missing information. It is not only me asking, but also my daughter, who was only four months, when my husband was conscripted (30 August 1939).
I’m listing my husband’s data below:
| 1. | Ignacy Mizera, son of Józef and Maria Stuglik, born 1 February 1902 in Andrychów (Zagórnik). Until 30 August 1939, resident in Dołhobyczów, Hrubieszów district, as a person administering the Dołhobyczów estate. |
| 2. | Graduate of Agricultural College. |
| 3. | Reserve ensign of the I Railway Bridges Battalion in Kraków, Montelupich Street. |
| 4. | Taken prisoner on 5 October 1939 in Uhnow near Rawa Ruska – this data comes from the first postcard in 1940, which was taken away from me during a Gestapo search. |
| 5. | I received the last card dated 5 March 1940 in April 1940. |
I enclose photocopies of the postcards and the last photograph of my husband.
