On 1 February 1947, in Końskie, Judge K. Kocmulski [?], member of the District Commission for the Investigation of German Crimes, Końskie branch, heard the person named below as an unsworn witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations and of the wording of Article 107 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the witness testified as follows:

In August 1942, due to the extermination of the Jews, as a tailor, I got into a co-op at the HASAG ammunition factory in Skarżysko. The manager of the co-op, or the commissar [?], was a German by the surname of Greffe, [who was] from Leipzig, where he allegedly was [supposed] to be the owner of the property. Greffe was known for his brutal handling of both Polish and Jewish nationals.
In 1942, in autumn, I remember it well: Greffe said that one of the employees of the co-op, the butcher Izrael Baumsztajn, stole a piece of meat. Then [Greffe], at the guardhouse of the Werkschutz [internal security service], having first gathered all the employees, before their very eyes and with the help of the members of the Werkschutz, beat and kicked Baumsztajn in a bestial manner for an hour and a half with rubber and clubs so that he lay all bloody. Then, he gave the order to transport the victim to the criminal section, where people were finished [off]. I know that Baumsztajn was gone after a few months, but I don’t know when he was finished off.
Furthermore, I was present at the time when a member of the Werkschutz, by the surname of Brajtman [?], from Tomaszów Mazowiecki, bragged that during the roundup of Jews for labor, he shot a Jew in a bestial manner for wanting to escape.
The doctor of the WASSAG during the occupation was a Jew, Dr. Zundel Kahan, who due to his profession, had access to all the facilities and witnessed many German atrocities.
