Kołoniec, 9 October 1947. At 1:00 PM, with the participation of a reporter and in the presence of witness Jan Sałuda, a Citizens’ Militia officer in Ruda Maleniecka, whom I advised of the requirement to certify with his signature that the report reflected the actual course of the procedure, I, Stefan Bancerz from the Citizens’ Militia station in Ruda Maleniecka, Końskie district, interviewed the person named below as a witness. Having been advised of the significance of the oath [and of] the right [to] refuse testimony for reasons listed in Article 104 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, [as well as of] the liability for making false declarations in accordance with Article 107 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the witness was sworn and testified as follows:

On 2 September 1943, gendarmerie from the district of Opoczno arrived in the village of Kołoniec, Ruda Maleniecka commune; they arrived in two cars, surrounded our house, and started to carry out a search looking for me, as I worked in the structures of the Home Army. I was at the neighbors’ house at that time. During the search one of the gendarmes shot my mother dead, presumably because of my absence. Józefa Gajewska’s body was buried in the cemetery in Fałków. I cannot provide the names of those gendarmes because I knew none of them.
