Deposition

Many people fell near the school in 1939/40. They grabbed Bogdański from the house I live in now. The whole mess took place by the school; cars went back and forth all the time. You couldn’t put your nose out. If you put out your nose, you got punched in the nose.

Those who lived there then, live there still. The elderly teacher lived there, upstairs. After the Germans left, her name was still on the list of tenants, I have no idea whether she’s left.

The Germans used to execute people for nothing at the time. If someone said something against someone else, they smashed him on the spot. Everybody kept a low profile.
