On 17 June 1947 in Kraków, Municipal Judge Dr. Henryk Gawacki, acting deputy prosecutor of the District Court in Kraków, with the participation of reporter Stanisław Malec, secretary of the Prosecutor’s Office of the District Court in Kraków, pursuant to Article 20 of the provisions introducing the Code of Criminal Procedure, in connection with Art. 107, 115 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, interviewed the person specified below as a witness, who testified as follows:

I was imprisoned at Auschwitz from August 1940 to 20 January 1945. From July 1942 until the very end I worked in the prisoners’ kitchen. During the latter period of time, suspect Medefind would often drive up and bring bread to the kitchen warehouse. Presently, I do not know when this occurred. He would usually bring bread to the kitchen warehouse once or twice a week. Since I worked in the warehouse with meat, I did not have dealings with him and paid no attention to him, so I have no information about Medefind’s conduct and behavior. I also do not know what reputation he had.
