CZESŁAW GAŁEK

On 20 September 1947 in Jelenia Góra, Investigating Judge of the District Court in Jelenia Góra, with its seat in Jelenia Góra, T. Szewczyk, with the participation of court reporter and legal apprentice M. Rouba, heard the person named below as a witness, without taking an oath. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations pursuant to Articles 107–115 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the witness testified as follows:

Name and surname Czesław Gałek
Age 35
Parents’ names Jan and Gabriela
Occupation owner of the Bajka hotel
Place of residence Cieplice Śląskie, Fabryczna Street 11
Criminal record none
Relationship to the parties none

I was in the Auschwitz camp from 14 December 1942 to 13 March 1943. I worked in the DAW [Deutsche Ausrüstungswerke, armament factory] kommando, and I lived in block 18. I can’t talk about any of the war criminals from the list read to me, because I didn’t know them by name. If I were shown pictures of the members of the Auschwitz armed crew, maybe then I could say something.

This is my testimony which I read and signed.
