1. Date and place of execution:

19 December 1943 in Samborzec.

2. Type of execution (shooting, hanging, etc.):

Shooting.

3. Personal data of the murdered victims:

Poles, Jews, foreigners: All victims were Polish men, mostly young; they were brought in a car from the direction
of Ostrowiec. It was established that all of them came from the area of Ostrowiec.

Number of murdered victims: 10 people.

The victims were brought in from: the direction of Ostrowiec.

Surnames, ages, professions/occupations, addresses:

The surnames of the executed remain unknown. They were young men, aged between 18 and 30 years. Their professions are unknown.

4. Is it known what the victims were accused of, whether the execution was carried out in retaliation, etc.?

The execution was a repressive measure for membership in clandestine Polish organizations.

5. Who carried out the execution (gendarmes, Gestapo men, SS men, policemen, the Wehrmacht)?

Members of the SD and German gendarmes.

6. Are the surnames of the perpetrators known (provide the surnames if known)?

Unknown.

7. Were the corpses burnt or destroyed otherwise?

No.

8. Where were the corpses buried (provide the exact location)?

In a field, in a common grave, just beyond the church in Samborzec.

9. Description of the place of burial (graves, dimensions, estimated number of victims buried in one grave).

The grave was about 3 meters long and 2 meters wide.

10. Were the corpses exhumed, were they officially reinterred (report)? If “yes” to the latter, then where?

The majority of the corpses were secretly uncovered and taken away by the families. Some of the murdered probably remained in the grave. As the exhumation was carried out in secret, the surnames of the victims are unknown.

11. Are there any grounds for conducting their exhumation in the future?

It would be advisable to open the grave to establish how many corpses remain buried there.

On 18 September 1945, the contents of the above questionnaire were officially confirmed by the head of Samborzec commune, Czesław Mroczek, with the Municipal Court in Sandomierz.
