APOLONIA ZIĘBACZEWSKA

In Petrykozy on this day, 18 September 1948, at 2.30 p.m., functionary H. Górczyński from the Citizens’ Militia Station in Białaczów, with the participation of reporter Jerzy Galant, heard the person named below as a witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations and of the wording of Article 140 of the Penal Code, the witness testified as follows:

Name and surname Apolonia Ziębaczewska
Parents’ names Adam and Gertruda
Age 73 years old
Place of birth Parczów, Białaczów commune
Religious affiliation Roman Catholic

Place of residence Petrykozy, Białaczów commune
Relationship to the parties son

On 18 September 1944, the gendarmerie from Opoczno came to Petrykozy, Białaczów commune, Opoczno district. They went to Ludwika Siuda, but left her place immediately; she lives across the road. Then they came to our barn, where my son Kazimierz was at the time. They began to beat him severely and led him across the yard from the barn, kicking and beating him. They took him to the road, where they had a car waiting. They loaded my son onto the car and took him to the forest, where they shot him. He was buried by someone from Białaczów, but I do not know by whom. For burying my son that person was rewarded with my son’s shoes.

In 1945, the body was transferred to the cemetery in Petrykozy.

I also know that the gendarmes bestially killed Bronisław Duda and his wife, Maria, in Olszyny, near the mill in Petrykozy. This murder was committed by the gendarmes and the Gestapo men from Opoczno.

Moreover, the following people were taken to a concentration camp, from which they did not return:

1) Teofil Duda, 40 years old, 2) Walenty Ukasik, 3) Józef Ukasik, 4) Jan Siuda, 5) Antoni Wiaderny, 6) Józef Banasik.

All were residents of Petrykozy, Białaczów commune.

People who were taken to a concentration camp but managed to return:

1) Olesiński (a teacher), 2) Andrzej Siuda, 3) Stanisław Siuda, 4) Stanisław Siuda, son of Julian.

This is all I know in the present case.

At this the report was concluded, read out and signed.
