JÓZEF MIKINKA

In Budziszewice on this day, 20 September 1948, at 4.00 p.m., officer Marek Guzewski from the Citizens’ Militia Station in Budziszewice heard the person named below as a witness. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations and of the wording of Article 140 of the Penal Code, the witness testified as follows:

Name and surname Józef Mikinka
Parents’ names Józef and Zofia
Age 47 years old
Place of birth Budziszewice
Religious affiliation Roman Catholic
Occupation laborer
Place of residence Budziszewice, Rawa Mazowiecka district
Relationship to the parties none

I don’t remember the exact day and month, but it was in 1942. I was coming back from the forest when I heard the roar of the engine from behind. The car stopped and the Germans led out Skibiński and Mela.

I looked back and saw gendarme Szuman from Teodorów and three other gendarmes whom I didn’t know. Szuman made a threatening gesture with his hand, motioning me to turn around, and so I went home.

When I had already covered some distance, I heard shooting, and a moment later these gendarmes passed me in their car and went to Budziszewice. It was then that Skibiński and Mela were killed.

At this the report was concluded, read out and signed.
