BOLESŁAW ZAKRZEWSKI

Cracow, 16 October 1946. Goldingen, a detective from the Citizen’s Militia Headquarters in Cracow, heard as a witness the person specified below. Having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations and of the importance of the oath, the witness was sworn and testified as follows:

Name and surname Zakrzewski Bolesław
Parents’ names Kazimierz and Jadwiga née Bek
Age 20 years old
Place of birth Warsaw
Religious affiliation Roman Catholic
Occupation student
Place of residence Cracow, Siemiradzkiego Street 6, flat 2

I know the following facts with regard to this case:

Professor Kazimierz Zakrzewski, founder and the head of the underground syndicalist organisation “Wolność i Lud” [Freedom and People], and head of the national minorities section of Związek Walki Zbrojnej [Union for Armed Struggle], was arrested on the night of 11/12 January 1941 in his own flat in Warsaw at Brzozowa Street 10, flat 2, as his name was on the list made by the Gestapo as the result of the incriminating testimony of citizen Dymek (also from ZWZ).

Professor Zakrzewski was taken to Pawiak prison, and on 11 March 1941 he was transported to Palmiry, where he was executed on the same day as a hostage for Igo Sym, a German informer killed by ZWZ.

At this the report was closed and read out before signing.
