Having been advised of the significance of the oath, the right to refuse to testify due to the reasons provided in Article 104 of the KPK, and the criminal liability for making false declarations as stated in Article 140 of the Penal Code, the witness took the oath and testified as follows:

Name and surname Janina Nurkowska, née Latos
Parents’ names Piotr and Zofia
Age 27
Date and place of birth 30 September 1921, Cudzynowice
Religious affiliation Roman Catholic
Occupation farm worker
Place of residence Cudzynowice, Topola commune

With regard to the present matter, I know the following: in January 1945, when I was walking to Budzyń, Topola commune with my late sister, Wanda Latos, about 200m away from the village of Cudzynowice, near the cemetery, I heard a shot fired from a rifle in our direction. Not knowing what to do, we kept walking. Then, after another shot was fired, my sister Wanda Latos fell to the ground, already dead. The bullet hit her right in the heart. I would like to mention that my sister was killed by the last of the escaping Ukrainians.

I conclude my report at that and sign after it has been read out.
