Koprzywnica, 15 September 1948, 4.10 p.m. I, Militia Officer Stefan Maj from the Citizens’ Militia Station in Koprzywnica, acting pursuant to Article 20 of the provisions introducing the Code of Criminal Procedure, in accordance with the order of the Vice-Prosecutor of the District Court Prosecutor’s Office, issued based on Article 20 of the provisions introducing the Code of Criminal Procedure, observing the formal requirements set forward in Articles 235–240, 258 and 259 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, with the participation of reporter Józef Jarosz, who was advised of the obligation to confirm with his signature the consistency of the report with the course of the proceedings, interviewed the person mentioned hereunder as a witness. Having been advised of the right to refuse testimony for the reasons stated in Article 104 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and of the liability for making false declarations pursuant to Article 140 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the witness declared as follows:

As regards the present case, I am aware of the following facts: I do not remember the exact date, but it was in July 1943. As the then village administrator, I was summoned by the German gendarmerie to 11 Listopada Street in the settlement of Koprzywnica. When I arrived, I saw a German truck with gendarmes and 7 residents of the Koprzywnica Commune. Then, one of the gendarmes ordered the detained individuals to get off the truck and announced that they would be executed in a moment for the murder of officer Panza. Afterwards, he told them to stand by a wall where the execution was carried out. Following the execution, I was told to announce to the people that if an officer was murdered in the future, 10 or even 50 Poles would be executed by shooting. That is all I know concerning the present case as an eyewitness.
