Memories of German crimes

It was September 1944 and our village was about to be burned. Someone outside called out: “The Germans are coming! They’re probably going to burn our village!” We ran out of the house. We wanted to run away. There were Germans riding on horses. Between them were some people. The group approached us. We saw men with bare heads. Their hands were tied behind them, on their necks. These people were running. When one fell tired, the Germans beat him. And how terribly they beat and kicked! I will not forget this for the rest of my life. These were the people from Piotrowe Pole. The Germans burned down the village. They took the cattle. They drove the men to Sienno and murdered them.
