In response to the notice published in Rzeczpospolita, newspaper issue 45 (541), year III, of 15 February 1946, I kindly inform that my son, Edward Jankowski (born 20 April 1921 in Kalisz), was caught by the Germans in Żoliborz district before 8.00 p.m. on 26 November 1943, and probably incarcerated in Pawiak [prison] under the pretext that he was unemployed. A few days later, his surname featured on the posters with lists of hostages who were to be executed. On 15 December 1943, his surname was on the posters with lists of people executed on 13 and 14 December; the list comprised 270 surnames, and my son’s was under no. 245.
I submit the above information to the Commission with a kind request that the Commission, against reimbursement of all costs incurred, inform me or my wife Tekla about any details known in the case or inform me where I should seek information.
