HIERONIM ZWOLIŃSKI

A report drawn up on 10 October 1946 by the Communal Commission of the commune of Zaborów (district of Warsaw) for the Investigation of German Crimes, concerning the murder of Ignacy Owczarski and Józef Nowak, Stanisław Rusztecki, Stanisław Kułakowski and Leon Zwoliński, also murdered.

The following man was examined in the case:

1) the leader of the community of Mariew, Hieronim Zwoliński, who having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations or ones inconsistent with the truth, testified as follows:

In 1943, Germans from the Sicherheitspolizei in Zaborów appeared in our community and took Ignacy Owczarski, beat him up, and killed him. They buried him in the forest near Zaborów. His corpse was identified upon exhumation. Immediately thereafter, these Germans detained Józef Nowak, Stanisław Rusztecki and Stanisław Kułakowski, and in all probability murdered them following an interrogation. The exhumation committee did not identify their bodies.

In 1942, gendarmes from Pruszków detained Leon Zwoliński; it is highly probable that he was murdered, for nothing is known of him to date.

The abovementioned facts may be attested to by the following witnesses: Piotr Gołębiowski, and Jan and Stefan Walendziak.

I am fully prepared to repeat my testimony – accompanied by the witnesses mentioned above – under oath whenever so requested.
