FRANCISZEK ZAJĄC

A report drawn up on 10 October 1946 by the Communal Commission of the commune of Zaborów (district of Warsaw) for the Investigation of German Crimes, concerning the shooting of Józef Stawicki and Franciszek Sobczyk.

The following man was examined in the case:

1) the leader of the community of Wiktorów, Franciszek Zając, who having been advised of the criminal liability for making false declarations or ones inconsistent with the truth, testified as follows:

In March 1943, Józef Stawicki was taken from his home by German gendarmes operating from Zaborów (Sicherheitspolizei), and subsequently executed and buried along the road leading to the school in Zaborów.

In September 1939, during the offensive against Warsaw, the Germans dragged Franciszek Sobczyk from his cellar and shot him dead on the spot.

The abovementioned facts may be attested to by the following witnesses: Mikołaj Stefański, Teresa Jaworek and Jan Szymański.
