From 1941, together with my 17-year-old son, Tadeusz, I lived in Warsaw at Piwna Street 8. During the Warsaw Uprising I stayed for almost the entire time in the basement of the house at Piwna Street 10, where I sought shelter from the air raids. I ran a kitchen for the insurgents in the adjacent house. I attended mass at the Jesuit church in Świętojańska Street. Many people were gathered in the basements of that church – men, women and children sought shelter from the air raids there. There were some 600 people. One day a German airman dropped a bomb on the church. Due to its explosion, the basements of the Jesuit church collapsed and many people were killed.
I did not witness any executions on the premises of the Jesuit church and monastery. I cannot say anything about this matter.
